Interview With Kendrick Lamar and Erykah Badu

Erykah Badu talks with the up and coming Compton rapper, Kendrick Lamar, about his struggles to adapt to his new public persona due to the success of his debute album, Good Kid, m.A.A.d City  released in 2012.

He admits to his biggest trouble, “I think my worst problem is actually living in the moment and understanding everything that’s going on. I feel like I’m in my own bubble. People tell me all the time, “You’re crazy, going there by yourself,” because it wouldn’t have soaked in yet that I’m supposed to be quote “Kendrick Lamar”—whoever this guy’s supposed to be. I still feel like me. So it’s really about me trying to adapt—that’s like the toughest thing for me right now. I feel like I’m in my own world.”

Lamar overlooks the unfavorable aspects of fame and focuses his happiness on finally seeing his family financially stable after years over poverty. Exposed to poverty and a substance influenced environment, Lamar has always stayed true to his goals because his family-oriented lifestyle kept him distracted from his reality.

Now in the reality of fame and fortune he is mindful of the consequences that follow the hype of social media, “it can really divert you from what your purpose is or what you’re trying to do. And I’ve seen artists get caught up in that. I’ve seen some of my friends get caught in that. Whether you’re a small celebrity or a grand celebrity, it really triggers something in your brain, seeing all that stuff . . . So I’m real aware of it.”

Straying away from the influences of social media, he confesses about his influences in music and what he wants to achieve. For the entire interview click on the link below.

Listen To What OG Brad “Scarface” Jordans Says About Hip Hop Today

Check out this exclusive in-depth interview with Scarface backstage at Paid Dues.  In part 2 Facemob talks to Nick Huff Barili about the current state of Hip Hop saying that he loves Kendrick Lamar but that older white execututives that are in control of Hip Hop are not in touch with the streets and don’t care about the culture.

THERE’S A CONSPIRACY to make black people look stupid and brainwash a generation of hip hoppers with “this crud.”

Watch the interview below:

I feel like the people that are in control of what Hip-Hop does is so f*cking White and so f*cking Jewish until they don’t give a f*ck about what the culture and the craft or what it really is. I don’t know if them mother*ckers trying to…let me say it right because I want this to be as offensive as I can possibly make it for these old ass punks that’s running these record labels. They’re in these powerful positions to dictate what the Black community hears and listens to. I f*cking hate that sh*t, like that sh*t pisses me off.
