The story behind Sherane aka Master Splinter’s Daughter:

When analyzing good kid, m.A.A.d city, you have to realize that Kendrick is taking you through a story in his childhood, but not chronologically.  This track is a fast forward where K.Dot (Kendrick Lamar) is entertaining a girl he’s known for some time, named Sherane.

K.Dot met Sherane at a party where they flirted and exchanged numbers.  Over the next summer, Kendrick and Sherane got to know each other pretty well.  He knew her family was in the gang scene, which made him wary of the whole him and her thing, but proceeded to hook up with her anyways.

Near the end of the song, Kendrick is taking his mom’s van to go meet up with Sherane, with sex on the brain…Unfortunately, when he arrives at her place, Sherane is waiting outside with two men in black hoodies (with the possibility that they are related to Sherane, either brothers or cousins, but nonetheless there to cause TROUBLE).
